The Most Common Areas Treated with SmartLipo
If you’re looking for a minimally invasive, easy way to melt away and reduce stubborn fat, a SmartLipo procedure may be the perfect solution for you. The SmartLipo technique involves very tiny incisions and uses laser technology to melt fat away once and for all. Dr. Melanie Carreon with LCS Medical Spa in Seguin, Texas has used this method on countless men and women throughout Seguin, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston and they have been thrilled with their results. One of the many perks of SmartLipo is that this technique uses a tiny cannula which can target various areas of the body with precision--including delicate, hard to treat areas such as the chin. So let’s learn what body parts you can attack with SmartLipo!
What is SmartLipo?
SmartLipo is an FDA approved, fat reducing procedure that is performed under local anesthesia. A surgeon makes a small incision under the skin and then slowly and precisely inserts the SmartLipo laser to melt away the fat. Once this process has been completed the surgeon then uses a cannula to remove the fat cells. Because the incisions made for the SmartLipo laser are so tiny, sutures may not be needed on certain areas. Once the stubborn fat has been removed the area is left looking more sculpted and toned. Even better, the heat generated from the laser stimulates the production of collagen under the skin to help with skin tightening, which means you could continue to see improved results for months to come.
What are the benefits of a SmartLipo procedure?
SmartLipo is an excellent alternative to traditional liposuction for multiple reasons. The procedure produces minimal bruising and swelling, the recovery time is much quicker, and due to the smaller size of the incision the scarring may be hardly noticeable. SmartLipo only requires local anesthesia so you can be awake and can lessen discomfort during the procedure. SmartLipo uses a laser to treat the fat and this laser also helps to stimulate collagen production. This means you’re not only removing fat from your problem areas, but the collagen production works to help tighten the existing tissue.
What are some areas that are commonly treated with SmartLipo?
While there isn’t any exercise that can reduce excess fat in the chin, a SmartLipo procedure may be able to help restore your jawline and tighten the skin. The SmartLipo technique is great for these delicate area and our Seguin, San Antonio, Austin and Houston patients love their results.
The upper arms tend to develop stubborn pockets of fat over time. This unfortunately is a common occurrence in women due to aging and hormones. A SmartLipo procedure can help to reduce these fat deposits and create a slimmer, tighter look in the upper arm area.
Back or bra area
The back is one of the more common areas that can store fat. Back fat or bra rolls are incredibly stubborn and can be very difficult to get rid of on your own. SmartLipo can target these areas and may help slim and smooth the surface, leaving the back looking more even and slimmer.
The abdomen is another area that accumulates stubborn fat that just won’t budge. Age, genetics, post-pregnancy fat, and hormones all play a role in why some individuals have (and keep) that stubborn pooch. SmartLipo is an ideal solution for this area as it can eliminate the pooch and may leave your abdomen looking more smooth, flat, and toned.
Flanks or love handles
It can be incredibly difficult to get rid of stubborn fat in the flanks or love handles. This fat gives the unsightly appearance of a “muffin top” and can give the illusion that you’re carrying a lot of excess weight. SmartLipo will remove the fat from these areas and provide a more sculpted appearance.
Thighs and knees
These areas will require strategic incisions to be made in order to ensure the end result is proportionate and symmetrical. The inner thighs may require incisions near the groin and buttocks crease, while the outer thighs may need incisions near the hip bone or outer thighs. Depending on the location of the fat on the knees, the incisions may need to be placed on the inside and/or outside of the knees in order to leave them slimmer and more defined.
When fat is stored in the chest it can give off the appearance feminine looking breasts. This not only affects men from a physical standpoint, but it can also cause quite a bit of insecurities and concerns. SmartLipo can eliminate this fat and leave the chest looking more sculpted and masculine. This procedure can be life-changing for men and allows them to regain their self-confidence.
Am I a good candidate for SmartLipo?
SmartLipo works well on men and women that are unable to get rid of stubborn fat through traditional methods like diet and exercise. Patients should be at their ideal weight and in good mental and physical health. Patients should also have realistic expectations and understand that SmartLipo should not be viewed as a weight loss procedure. It will sculpt and slim problem areas, but the procedure will not remove every ounce of fat from the body.
